Took car in for broken AC. Found out DJ over charges for parts. Quoted me for $490 for an AC compressor for 2009 Aveo. Brand name Murray for the part. Checking O'reilly in town, O'reilly quoted $200-300 for the same Murray AC compressor, price range difference was due to 3 or 4 tabs on compressor. After confronting DJ's with these prices from O'Reilly, DJ's still would not bring the part down to a reasonable price. (DJ's did offer to lower the part for $475 instead of $490). Calling to a different auto shop blocks away from DJ...The other auto shop said the part would be around $300 for the exact same Murray brand ! I decided to take the car back from DJ's without having Dj's fix anything. To make matters worse, the car battery was completely dead. Not just low battery, but completely dead. DJ's said "You need to replace the battery because the battery is 7 years old". Batteries DO NOT go completely dead if the batter is old, batteries do not provide as much amps from getting old...NOT getting dead all the sudden as in a black and white situation. DJ's did something wrong (such as leaving keys in car for 24 hours, or they intentionally drained the battery) Not a respectable auto shop. Would not recommend DJ's for any service.

Excellent service but the labor charges were through the roof -- $178 for less than an hour's work. Parts charges were more typical. It was an *emergency* visit, so perhaps that was the reason for the outlandish service charges -- but wow!
